Montaña de Oro State Park
Visit Montana De Oro State park. Take a walk on the bluff trail, play in the tide pools, hike through the dunes, surf at Sanspit Beach or relax at the beach. This park features secluded sandy beaches, coastal plains, streams, canyons, and hikes including 1,347-foot Valencia Peak and Islay Creek. There are also mountain biking and equestrian trails. Monarch Butterfly Grove
You can’t miss the many striking brightly-colored signs for this event along Highway 1 near the North Beach Campground. A free public parking area is provided just off the highway. Look for a trailer with volunteer docents on hand from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. They give talks a couple times a day and are around to answer visitors’ questions.
